Long episode this week, in which Pyra rants about old Johnny thunders pics, breaking a pick in the middle of shooting a video blog, the inspiration behind “Lucky Paw,” narcissists who must state the obvious and irrelevant just to inject themselves into a discussion, and then there’s the mega rant on IQ.
More specifically: most people think they’re smarter than average, chicks who think guys should lust after their brains instead of their looks, remedial reading for sixth graders, and husband hunting as compared to catching a great white shark.
The show then wraps up with a little riffing on the idea of mail order clone husbands.
On this episode, Pyra riffs on shooting a video of her cover of Guns N Roses’ “14 Years” in her jam space in between noise from the neighbors. She also talks about guilt trip-y “help me achieve my dream” promotion styles, cheesy burlesque, why Hanoi Rocks’ “Sweet Home Suburbia” wouldn’t be a good song to dance to for a boyfriend, walking alone at night and rape paranoia, why it’s not misogynistic to expect females to look out for their own safety, and getting pickpocketed at a Tea Party show [CanCon band Tea Party, not GOP grassroots Tea Party].
Pyra gushes about this week’s Slash show and how she almost missed it. Also, happy birthday to the dude Pyra’s mother had decided Pyra ought to steal away from his girlfriend, and Pyra’s dad wages holy jihad against the carpenter ants.
In this very first episode, Pyra does a little blathering about the podcast and other podcasts she does. Then there’s some chat about removing piercings, to post old furniture on Craisglist or not, some updates on the new maQLu album, and conversations with crazy people about overpriced goth clothes.
